To get to the shotgun range: Upon entering the gate, make an immediate left turn and travel along the roadway about a tenth of a mile. You will see the clubhouse in front of you and parking is to the right of the clubhouse.
The range is equipped with a beautiful clubhouse with kitchen and bathroom facilities. This is where the regular club meetings are held. The trap field has three trap houses and an area for shotgun patterning.
Regular JCSA sponsored trap shoots are every Wednesday and Sunday beginning at noon. Range fee is $3.75 for a line of traps consisting of 25 targets thrown at random from the voice controlled trap machines. A 10-line punch card is also available for $33.00 giving the regular shooter a discount on each line of traps. Junior members are also welcome to shoot for only $2.00 per line.
Be sure to check the "Shotgun News" button below for the latest info and fees and check the "Calendar" page for the latest scheduling info.
Any gauge shotgun is permissible at the trap range but size of shot is restricted to 7½ or smaller and velocity is restricted to 1200 feet-per-second or less. Buckshot and slugs are not permitted on the trap range but may be used on the pistol or rifle range. Check with the Rangemaster before you set up if you have any questions.
Shooters may use the trap range at other times but must bring their own target throwing device. Hand traps or mechanical traps are permitted but must be adjusted so as to throw targets into the field area and not so high as to allow shot to go beyond the tree line. Standard clay targets only, No Trash Targets, and clean up after yourselves. There are barrels for spent hulls located near the clubhouse.
Always follow the fundamental rules of safe firearms handling and the special rules posted at the range, or click the button below for our rules.
